Leaving Castiglione del Lago you descend towards the coast. You then follow a portion of the cycling route and appreciate the quiet and relax that these places donate to your soul. This trail takes you back in time when the battle of Trasimeno Lake took place: Hannibal fought against a Roman Army commanded by Gaius Flaminius during the Second Punic War in 217 b.C. when the Romans faced a devastating defeat. At the pier in Tuoro, while awaiting the ferry boat to Isola Maggiore where you will stay overnight, please take your time to admire an open air contemporary art exhibition called Campo del Sole (meaning Field of the Sun).
