Strada del cavacchione to Pian di Celle

Take the Cavacchione Road – so called since once there were numerous sand and clay quarries along it – and follow it to the end to reach Pian di Celle.

Sand and clay are present in the area due to deposits of the Lower Pleistocene when this area was covered by the sea.

At the beginning of the route we recommend a visit to the Diocesan Civic Museum and Church of Santa Maria dei Servi. Along the way please find the Church of the Madonna della Sanità (of the Health), the Church of Madonna degli Angeli and an equestrian center.
