Città della Domenica is Italy’s first park.
It was conceived and built in the late 1950s by Mario Spagnoli, a Perugian entrepreneur and son of Luisa Spagnoli (creator of Baci Perugina and the eponymous fashion house). Opened in 1963, it offers a rare combination of love for the environment and contact with animals. Numerous attractions and entertainment shows are offered.
An ideal place for families and people of all ages, it can be visited on foot or aboard the historic train, which circles the park, stopping along the main attractions: the Farm of Ancient Crafts, Pinocchio’s Village, the Wild West, and the Canyon of Raptors.
Throughout the park, deer, mouflons, and squirrels roam freely among the trees. At the park’s exit, you can visit the famous Reptile House, home to crocodiles and giant snakes.
