The Coldibetto farm is located in a magnificent corner of the Umbrian countryside, at the foot of Mount Tezio, in front of the park of the ‘Villa del Colle del Cardinale’, part of the possessions of the noble Della Corgna family which in the 16th century extended from Perugia to to the Tuscan shore of Lake Trasimeno. Coldibetto vineyards participate in the creation of a particularly evocative landscape. Here you will find a rural, simple and sustainable environment, rich in history and quality products.

Among the hilly slopes of Trasimeno Lake, the Casaioli Farm has handed down the love for wine for over three generations. The golden age of the small village of Fontignano arrives in the fifteenth century, when the presence of an illustrious master of painting, born Pietro Vannucci, called Perugino, gives it splendor. It is here, in the area of ​​the last residence of the Divine Painter, that today Giacomo, Leo and Stefano produce their wines, with the aim of maintaining the richness of traditions and recovering it in a modern key.

Whether you are just a food lover, an expert or a novice cook, the relaxed and familiar atmosphere that you will find at Cook By Me, together with the beauties of the place, will give you an unforgettable day!

The cooking classes take place in the kitchen overlooking the garden and the beautiful landscape of my home in the centre of Città della Pieve.

For the classes, we will use only fresh, seasonal, and local products. The lessons include the preparation of different kinds of pasta or lasagne, or parmigiana aubergine or gnocchi or rice from scratch, sauce and a dessert; you will learn how to use the rolling pin, the pastry board, and the pasta machine.
During the experience, in the garden of my home, I will offer first Italian appetizers with red and wine wines, and then we will have lunch in my dining room upstairs.

From Benedictines to Della Corgna: Visit to the Abbey and tasting

The Abbey of Settefrati is a former Benedictine abbey of the twelfth century, transformed into a hunting lodge in the 16th century by one of the most prestigious noble families of the Lake Trasimeno area, the Della Corgna, in particular by Cardinal Fulvio Della Corgna who had it frescoed with grotesque motifs, with allegorical scenes, sacred images, animals, angels and fantastic figures who still have stories to tell.

Despite the traces left by time, the Abbey still preserves all the charm of its thousand years of history.

The experience includes:

  • Visit to the Abbey: church, cloister, frescoed rooms, officinal garden and olive oil mill.

Berioli, a Wine History since 1912

Walk among the rows of grapevines, visit the cellar and taste the wines of the Berioli family.

Near the delightful medieval village of Montesperello di Magione, Roberto opens the doors of his cellar. In its vineyards, maintained and cared for like gardens, each row of grapevines is an expression of the deep respect for nature. The Cellar is housed in carefully restored ancient rooms, where the wine rests in French oak barriques and tonneaux.
