Orlando Tower and old Paciano

Orlando Tower and old Paciano

Historical place

The Orlando tower is the only testimony to the ancient fortification of old Paciano, on the road between Paciano and Panicale.
The first signs of the tower are dated in 917, when the emperor Berengario I granted the feud to Uguccione II, marquess of Tuscany. Its position on a hill was strategic, as it was probably part of a network of castles of the region. Nowadays it is a private residence surrounded by a huge park with a swimming pool and used as a holiday residence, for ceremonies or weddings.
