Campo del Sole (‘Field of the Sun’)

Campo del Sole (‘Field of the Sun’)

Art show Museum / place of art

Campo del Sole is an original open-air museum located in Punta Navaccia, at the beach of Tuoro. Designed by Pietro Cascella, it is an architectural ensemble of 28 columns-sculptures created by internationally renowned Italian and foreign artists from 1985 to 1989.

The project configures a large spiral with a diameter of 44 meters drawn by 27 columns that lead to a central table surmounted by a solar symbol, which therefore constitutes the goal of a meditative journey.
An opportunity for encounter and dialogue, close and distant, daily and historical at the same time. A place of meditation, remembrance, relaxation and contemplation.

The column theme makes Campo del Sole a sort of small Stonehenge of our time, a mysterious invitation to a spirituality to be rediscovered and cultivated through sculpture.
