Trasimeno Wine Road

The Lake Trasimeno district is a borderland historically devoted to wine-producing as certified by the Tabula Cortonensis – a 2,200-year-old, inscribed bronze tablet of Etruscan origin recording a sale or inheritance of a vineyard. As a result, it was fated to become a large market area. So, today the Trasimeno Wine Road promotes and represents the energies of this region.

Trasimeno Wine Road associates 23 wineries. Every one of them is unique because of their history, origins and winemaking ways. DOC regulations  are the unifying idea. However, it is fascinating to know how wines change according to the areas in which they are produced leading to a wide range of wines from different grapevines such as «Gamay del Trasimeno»: a wine lover’s dream come true!

Trasimeno Wine Road takes also advantage of and draws its energy from the synergy of the 10 municipalities of the area: Perugia, Piegaro,  Corciano, Magione, Passignano, Tuoro, Castiglione del Lago, Paciano, Panicale e Città della Pieve.
