Church of San Giuseppe in Pratalenza

Church of San Giuseppe in Pratalenza

Church

Pratalenza is a small rural settlement at 556 meters above sea level. On the road that leads from here to Greppolischieto, there was a small church dedicated to the Madonna del Monte, most likely built in the 15th century. In 1956, lightning struck the church causing it to burn and the roof to collapse. A few years later, a new church was built closer to the town, small and simple, dedicated to San Giuseppe the worker, which has been further restored even in recent times.
In a narrow square, in front of the first houses of the village, there is a masonry aedicule dedicated to the Virgin, known as Madonnina de Pratalenza.
