An itinerary to appreciate the history and nature of the island by visiting the Medieval Castle, built to defend the ancient village, the small Church of San Giuliano with frescoes from the 15th century Umbrian school, the Holm Oak Wood of San Leonardo with its imposing trees.
By visiting the island at different times of the year it will be possible to enjoy the area when seasonal changes are accompanied by rhythms, colors, echoes and resonances of water, earth, air and fire.

The farm offers many activities to suit all guest – young and old.
The guided tour of the farm will let everyone discover the beauty of the countryside including the visit to the stable of over 340 cows, the explanation of how to tend the fields and the visit to the contemporary art park.
The ones interested in food and wine tourism will be offered a tasting of local produces including extra virgin olive oil produced in-house from over 4,000 plants.
As Educational farm, you will enjoy a unique experience unveiling farm secrets.
Workshops with and on snails, activities for children and adults of various kinds: courses, theme nights, tastings and more, outdoors and for all ages.
The main theme is always nature in a broad sense and snails in the specific.
It always starts from a visit to the enclosures with an explanation of what is done in our farm, and then continues with the planned event or, in the case of groups
of children, with the planned workshops or chosen by the guests from a pre-arranged list.
We are a team of local professionals striving to involve visitors into our daily lives, activities and research, unlocking the soul of this unique territory by quietly walking through the woods, hills and meadows, sailing across the lake’s waters to discover its many secrets and allures.

Our project Trasimeno Slow Experience guides visitors to the heart of Lake Trasimeno, its history, natural beauties and traditions, far from the beaten track and the touristy crowds, accompanied by locals and experts who know and love the area deeply.
Our programs and activities are also conceived for those who visit the area often but wish to have a unique experience, for a day or a few hours, on a boat – to rediscover and fully enjoy the watery scenes of the lake and its islands -, on horseback or in a carriage for special itineraries into the tiny medieval villages, with a slow-pace walk accompanied by local donkeys or simply hiking through the woods and hills surrounding the lake.
The ultimate experience to fully live and peacefully experience our gorgeous Lake Trasimeno!
The children will create an orchard in a box to bring back home and take care of and then eat the good fruits that will be grown.
You may choose how long the activity shall last: 2 hours, a half-day, halfday with lunch.
It is possible to reserve your own lunch-box containing produces of the farm products and of other local farms for a picnic alongside the Zafferaneto (the saffron field) or the ancient grains field.

The activity is held at harvesting season: from the last week of October until mid-November, from dawn till sunset.

We aim to raise awareness of children’s eating habits and life of animals on a real farm.
With a first approach between visitors and animals, we stimulate the use of the senses: touch, smell, hearing, sight and taste with a snack based on seasonal farm products at km 0

A special place where you can smell a good book, where you can read stories at any time, where you do not rush but breathe the scent of tea and illustrated pages, sitting or moving, together or alone… a space out of the too fast pace of everyday life. All this and much more is Libri Parlanti (‘Books Talking’), a library for children and youngs, a unique and original reality in Castiglione del Lago. Inside there are over 4,000 titles dedicated mainly to the 0-14 age group.
The experience “Mamma leggHi!” includes:
- Reading aloud for children and, following, a small graphic activity.
